Sautter writes an article about the top picks to travel this season with your family…

Rajasthan

There are a lot of places to visit in this state. Udaipur is one of the most beautiful city of India also known as lake city, best place to relax. Jaipur will be covered in 2 days max. Commute depends on the mode of transport you prefer. There a a few trains from Mumbai to Jaipur. Only one to Udaipur. Pushkar can be done on the way from Jaipur-Udaipur or vice versa. Plan Agra visit according to your convenience considering these.

Jaipur, Udaipur, Pushkar

Goa:

Stay in extreme north Goa or south Goa. In North Arambol , Morjim , Vagator, Anjuna and Curlies , Ashwem and Querim are nice beaches.

Commuting by local bus is cheap and good option. Only problem is the fixed routes and operating timing till 7 pm only. You can get buses from local buses from Thivim to Mapusa and from Mapusa to your destination beach area Anjuna or Arambol or Vagator. You can also hire scooter for 250 rs a day.

In anjuna area funky monkey and wonderland are best hostels. Happy Panda hostel at Arambol or Pappi Chulo at Vagator. The best in budget hostels in Goa.

Gujarat:

Heart that north Gujarat is even better than Rajasthan because less touristic. Camel’s used there still for work not just for touristic tours but no pancakes… local food it is! But definitely desert Thar, sleeping under the stars must do!

South India:

You can go either to Pondicherry or Kerala, but it would be hot. Also mentioning to go to Auroville and chill. But again it will be relatively warmer.

Pondicherry

Himachal Pradesh

If you want to go somewhere relatively colder than the southern India, you can go to Jibhi in Himachal Pradesh. It’s a serene cut off village in the Teerthan Valley. Una river flows directly through that place. Other places you can visit in Himachal are Daramshala , Mcleodganj or Parvati valley side Kasol Kheerganga Tosh Rasol. If you want to rough it out then Spiti or Leh is a must go place but budget must be on higher side.

North India

Apart from the top pick Rajasthan, you can either go to Uttrakhand for Hrishikesh, Binsar, Chakouri, Munsiyari or   All of these places are 8-16 hours drive from Delhi.
