I had to head to Hyderabad for an important meeting last week. I’ve been there numerous times and stayed at dozens of different hotels and resorts in Hyderabad, but the highlight of this trip was the heavenly Golkonda Resort where I stayed overnight.
Hyderabad is a photographer’s and foodie’s delight. Heritage monuments and museums dotting the city boast about its rich history, culture, and traditions. I keep returning to city and spare one additional day each time to explore the places there.
GETTING THERE:
This resort is just 30kms from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and located next to sylvan Osman Sagar lake. As I walked out of airport through the arrivals, the pre-booked cab took me to the Golkonda resort in just 35min. So, it’s a city- based resort I inferred.
LOCATION:
This resort in Hyderabad is located at such a prime position such that you can walk to serene Gandipet Lake to see the mesmerizing sunrise and sunset. The Ocean Park of Hyderabad, Chilkur Balaji Teample, Sai Temple, and Treasure Island are all located in the neighborhood. It is also close to Hi Tech city Hyderabad adding to the buzz.
Golkonda Resort presents a perfect setting for a stay with family in addition to business trips.
CHECKING- IN:
As soon as I entered, I got this feeling of tranquility and peace. The landscape, amidst a breathtaking expanse of nature, just makes all the stress vanish within seconds.
The staff at reception welcomed and checked me in. All the facilities were explained by the time luggage was taken to my room.
THE ROOM:
Palm Villa, facing swimming pool, was booked for me. It was a spacious one with wooden interiors, which I adore, and bathtub in addition to all the facilities.
There are also options to choose Garden Villa which is located near lush green palms and on the first level with balcony and a private work-area or luxurious Green Wood Villa which have large bedrooms.
The entire resort is made accessible using a wheel-chair and has all the possible amenities like gym, pool, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi, body treatments, Wi-Fi, bar, a/c etc.
THE DINNING EXPERIENCE:
I was hungry by the time I had showered and was ready, so headed to The Lighthouse Restaurant which offers a variety of multi-cuisine dishes to choose from.
I loved the royal ambiance and pampered my taste buds with some scrumptious delicacies. I also tried the exotic brews at Rendezvous during the latter part of day, and the wide range of cocktails at “Ale n Hearty”.
BUSINESS NEEDS:
I had lot of spare time to roam around the resort. I think it’s also perfect for business retreats and outbound training programs or conferences in general too. Since I also work with lot of companies to facilitate their Corporate Outbound Programs throughout India, I need facilities such as LCD projectors, audio-visual equipment, banquet hall, and open lawns which are all readily available. All of this makes it the best choice of resorts in Hyderabad. .
It was very much unexpected that there is also a convention hall ‘G-Convention’ which can accommodate 1500 people in addition to smaller halls like Mayflower for 200 people. Only a couple of city-based resorts in India offer these kinds of classic and much-needed facilities.
THE VERDICT:
Golkonda Resort has great ambiance, spacious rooms and so many facilities and amenities making it one of the best choices. It suits for an individual’s needs as well as perfect for family and business. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful.
Perfect for luxurious urban escapes, stylish city-breaks, business trips and conferences.
