Fun games got me better at managing finances

Seldom do we get taught about managing finances in school. It’s also not a topic of discussion at home or in my friend circles. I have been saving and investing since I started earning but never planned my finances for long term.

Working in different countries, traveling and making wider connections got me in touch with people who are into stocks and crypto. All this was fascinating to me and I decided to give it a try, but I didnt want to lose out on money.

After lot of google searches and doing some research about it, I felt now was the right time to get into it. And I stumbled upon this gaming site which has online, interactive games to simulate all of this and much more, which raised my financial awareness greatly and made me more conscious about where my money is going.

I especially love this Stocks game. The goal here to speculate on stocks and we get to day trade. We get to play across 30 day with a start of $500. This was a lot of fun and got me to nerd out on actual analysis and study graphs when I wanted to do it in real life.

I also built a startup in Idle Startup Tycoon where I got to build a startup incubator housing many different businesses. There are many levels where we upgrade programmers to different floors to increase efficiency, as we progress into the game we get to hire managers for each business, automate each job tasks, unlock new floors to upgrade startups as well as build new lines of businesses. After playing for long, I also got an investment in my business which as the most fun part. This is a very engaging and easy to play game.

Other fun games were bitcoin minting and NFT generator. My friends love this as they nerd out on these things. When I shared this site with kids in my family, they got really into the Management games namely cashier at grocery store, restaurant, coffee shop, pizzeria and bunch of basic counting of money games.

One of the most interesting ones was Wind and Solar which focus on sustainable energy. In this we have to adjust windmills and solar panels to make the most out of producing energy.

There is also one which I end up playing a lot in my free time is Idle Forest where we can mine and lumberjack to sell the produce and earn income. Most of the games did help me in critical thinking and developing other competencies.

There are some really engaging games to teach kids maths. Like the Cashier ones. This one that my nephew plays very often is Grocery Cashier. A bunch of others also simulate about managing super market and building hypermarket with hiring workers and maintaiing the stock and inventory. These are incredibly helpful to actually get to know what exactly happens in stores that we are only customers of. Kids build self-awareness as well as social intelligence about the things that are around them.

You will also enjoy this Jewel Shop one. They are on similar lines of buying the things and then billing for them. Its a wide variety of collection offered in each of these shops.

For all pet lovers’ delight, we also get to operate this pet store, we start with selling hamsters and the profits that we ear go to getting more cats, dogs and other pets. We also get to reinvest to improve the store

All of these are games, no doubt but they have supported critical and logical thinking so much. It’s great to build management competencies early on and make productive use of free time. What more to educate oneself, adult or kids, than to spend time in play but also get to learn the important money management skills. And as I mentioned before, these are seldom taught in school so spending some time of day on this incredible productive, easy to use and super engaging website is the key to growth, for sure.
